“Action” Jackson Webb ran in playgrounds, danced, and played sports as a preschooler. At home, he often jumped off the couch and ran up the stairs two at a time. But in kindergarten, when he started spending more and more time with his 4-month-old sister on the floor of their home and could barely climb the stairs without assistance, his parents knew something was wrong.
“We panicked and wanted to urgently find out what was up with our boy,” says Jonathan Webb, Jackson’s father and a member of the Family Leadership Committee at the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). “The process from that point became both scary and frustrating.”
