ABP volunteers — subject matter experts in their respective pediatric subspecialties — are finalizing mapping the new pediatrics milestones 2.0 to the ABP’s entrustable professional activities (EPAs), continuing the move toward a competency-based approach to education and assessment. 

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) released the new pediatric subspecialty milestones 2.0 in the spring of 2023, and the ABP has partnered with the Council of Pediatric Subspecialties, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors, and the subspecialty community at large to put teams together to map these new milestones to the EPAs.

“Action” Jackson Webb ran in playgrounds, danced, and played sports as a preschooler. At home, he often jumped off the couch and ran up the stairs two at a time. But in kindergarten, when he started spending more and more time with his 4-month-old sister on the floor of their home and could barely climb the stairs without assistance, his parents knew something was wrong.
