The ABP welcomed about 20 certified pediatric subspecialists to our offices in Chapel Hill this week to help write exam questions. Each had volunteered to through the ABP’s nominations tool, which allows pediatricians to nominate themselves or someone they know for an appointment to one of the examination committees or subspecialty subboards.
“We launched the tool as a way to get more people involved from different parts of the country and in different stages of their careers,” said Linda Althouse, PhD, ABP Vice President of Psychometrics and Assessment Services. “Their involvement in question-writing helps ensure that the exams reflect what’s going on in current pediatric practice.”
After the initial meeting in Chapel Hill, these volunteers will continue to work together through online meetings.
