Subspecialty Certifying Examinations
Every 2 years, the ABP offers certifying examinations for subspecialties that are administered by the ABP or co-sponsored by multiple ABMS boards and the examination is administered by a board other than the ABP. The Sports Medicine Certifying Examination, administered by the American Board of Family Medicine, is a yearly examination. Subspecialty examinations administered by the ABP are half-day exams consisting of multiple-choice questions. To prepare for the exam, you may review the following for your subspecialty:
- Exam dates and fees (https://www.abp.org/content/exam-dates-and-fees-subspecialties)
- Admission requirements (https://www.abp.org/content/subspecialty-certifications-and-admission-requirements)
- Content outlines (https://www.abp.org/content/content-outlines-subspecialties)
Log into the ABP Portfolio (https://www.abp.org/ABPLanding) to apply for the exam.
