The American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) announced its 2021 Exemplars this week. This distinction recognizes board-certified pediatricians who created and submitted outstanding quality improvement (QI) projects last year.

For 2021, the ABP honored pediatricians for work that aimed to make improvements in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) or in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. QI in pediatrics is designed to help pediatricians assess and improve the quality of patient care and processes that will lead to improved child health.

The American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) announced this week an update to Maintenance of Certification (MOC) point requirements for participating pediatricians.

The number of points a board-certified pediatrician needs to earn each MOC cycle is now split evenly between 50 Self-Assessment (MOC Part 2) points and 50 Quality Improvement (MOC Part 4) points. The total remains 100.

As before, pediatricians will still need to complete only two Part 4 projects each cycle.…
