The ABP supports and salutes pediatric trainees and board-certified pediatricians who, consistent with the ABP mission, are advancing child health under extraordinary circumstances. Below we have compiled updates and details to answer your questions about certification during this pandemic. We also continue to be available via phone and email.
Program Directors and Trainees
The ABP awarded MOC points to all general pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists who were certified and in good standing effective June 2020, to recognize COVID-19-related learning and improvement during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Your COVID-19 points are documented in the My Completed Activities section of your ABP Portfolio and will count toward your MOC Part 2 and MOC Part 4 points for the remainder of your current cycle.
To give you flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic and other life events, your four lowest-scored quarters will be dropped in each five-year MOC cycle and won't count against you.
Where regional regulations permit reopening, most Prometric testing centers in the United States and Canada have resumed testing at either full or limited occupancy. If regulations require your exam to be rescheduled, Prometric will work closely with you to find new appointment dates and times that work for your schedules, and they will waive any rescheduling fees. Prometric provides current information on their COVID-19 response and actions on their public website. Check our MOC Exam Dates and Locations page for current application and exam dates.
