ABP’s Roadmap Project Partners with CHA for Emotional Health Webinar Series

Friday, November 12, 2021

The American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Foundation’s Roadmap Project, in partnership with the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA), is hosting a four-part webinar series to spread awareness of the emotional toll of chronic conditions on children and their families and engage with clinicians, family advisory councils, patients, and families on the work currently in-progress.

The series follows the recent announcement by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) that declared a national emergency in children’s mental health, citing the serious toll of the COVID-19 pandemic on top of existing challenges.

For many, those existing challenges include life as a child or teen with a chronic condition. The ABP Foundation’s Roadmap Project works to improve the emotional health of these children and teens by raising awareness and sharing strategies to support patients, families, and providers in addressing these needs.

In the webinar series, subject matter experts, parents, and patients will share the importance of emotional health and will present tested tools and strategies from clinical teams at children’s hospitals. The first webinar, Supporting Emotional Health: “Tell Me, How Are You Doing?” will take place Dec. 1 from 2 to 3 p.m. ET and focus on the emotional toll of life with a pediatric chronic condition and the simple query that can help.
