The American Board of Pediatrics established the Paul V. Miles Fellowship to honor Dr. Miles’ years of service as Senior Vice President for Maintenance of Certification and Quality. This fellowship is awarded annually to an individual who has demonstrated excellence in improving the quality of care for children. The fellowship carries a cash award and an invitation to the American Board of Pediatrics in Chapel Hill to share knowledge that will inform our work in our mission to improve child health.
The ABP is now accepting nominations of individuals who have advanced quality improvement for children through published research or through leadership in quality improvement efforts. At Paul’s request, the fellowship is directed primarily toward mid-career individuals. The impact of the nominee’s work on quality improvement will be the primary selection criterion. Of particular interest are candidates who have led or participated in collaborative networks that have improved care practices or child health outcomes.
