Nominations for the 2021 Paul V. Miles Fellowship Accepted Now

Friday, October 09, 2020

Dr. Paul V. MilesThe American Board of Pediatrics established the Paul V. Miles Fellowship to honor Dr. Miles’ years of service as Senior Vice President for Maintenance of Certification and Quality Improvement. This fellowship is awarded annually to a board-certified pediatrician or pediatric subspecialist who has demonstrated excellence in improving the quality of care for children. The fellowship carries a cash award and an invitation to the American Board of Pediatrics in Chapel Hill to share knowledge that will inform our work in our mission to improve child health.

The ABP is now accepting nominations of individuals who have advanced quality improvement for children through published research or through leadership in quality improvement efforts. The impact of the nominee’s work on quality improvement and improving outcomes in child health will be the primary selection criterion. While all applications will be accepted and considered, we encourage applications from those working to eliminate racial and socioeconomic disparities in child health outcomes. At Paul’s request, the fellowship is directed primarily toward mid-career individuals.

The submission deadline has been extended to Friday, Oct. 23, 2020.
