Thursday, September 26, 2019 - 16:45

Dr. Paul V. MilesThe American Board of Pediatrics established the Paul V. Miles Fellowship to honor Dr. Miles’ years of service as Senior Vice President for Maintenance of Certification and Quality Improvement. This fellowship is awarded annually to an individual who has demonstrated excellence in improving the quality of care for children. The fellowship carries a cash award and an invitation to the American Board of Pediatrics in Chapel Hill to share knowledge that will inform our work in our mission to improve child health.

The ABP is now accepting nominations of individuals who have advanced quality improvement for children through published research or through leadership in quality improvement efforts. At Paul’s request, the fellowship is directed primarily toward mid-career individuals. The impact of the nominee’s work on quality improvement will be the primary selection criterion. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have used lean methods to escalate the rate of improvement and enhance the sustainability of improvement efforts within their organization.

To nominate an individual, please send a cover letter and the nominee’s CV to Emily Moss and include “Attn: Dr. Keith Mann” in the subject line. All submissions must be received by Thursday, October 31, 2019.
