Cashing in on Credit

Thursday, February 16, 2017

The ABP is receiving and approving more quality improvement applications than ever before, as pediatricians seek Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit for the quality improvement (QI) work they’re already doing.

While board-certified pediatricians took advantage of the opportunity to claim credit for QI work they were already engaged in, the ABP used 2016 to focus on improvements to the program. As a result, a quick application checklist (PDF) was developed to make it easy for them to complete and submit the application.

With the right documents in hand, a QI participant can easily complete the application process in less than 30 minutes.

This year, the board is looking to receive even more applications, projecting those approvals will continue to increase.

The application is specifically designed for teams of 1-10 physicians, but there’s another application available for bigger teams.
