Burke Receives 2017 Tunnessen Award

The ABP congratulates Ann E. Burke, MD, who has been named the 2017 Recipient of the Walter W. Tunnessen Jr. MD Award for the Advancement of Pediatric Resident Education. The award was presented to Dr. Burke at the Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD) Spring meeting April 5–8.

Dr. Burke is Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Pediatric Residency Training Program at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. She is also chair-elect of the ABP Board of Directors.

The Walter W. Tunnessen Jr. MD Award for the Advancement of Pediatric Resident Education honors a Program Director or Associate Program Director (past or present) for extraordinary or innovative contribution(s) in pediatric graduate medical education.
