Additional Information
This exam is a three-hour internet-based test that includes approximately 150 multiple-choice questions. The ITE is not delivered remotely and the use of virtual computers is not permitted. Please contact your IT department to ensure your institution will not be using virtual machines during the test administration.
ITE can be ordered through the Program Portal.
The general pediatrics program director or coordinator must order the appropriate number of ITEs for all residents in their institution, including trainees in medicine-pediatrics, and other general pediatric combined disciplines, such as pediatrics-genetics, pediatrics-emergency medicine, and pediatrics-anesthesiology, etc. Please coordinate with the combined medicine-pediatrics program to ensure that you order for those residents, as the registration window cannot be extended.
It will be administered at the training program by the program director or the appropriate delegate.
Residents training during a core year in categorical pediatrics, medicine–pediatrics, and other general pediatric combined disciplines, such as pediatrics-genetics, pediatrics-emergency medicine, and pediatrics-anesthesiology, etc., are permitted to take the ITE. Chief residents who are completing their Pediatric R3 year or Med-Peds R4 year are eligible to take ITE.
A chief resident who has completed a categorical residency or a medicine-pediatrics residency, is not permitted to take the ITE. If a resident who is not eligible takes the ITE, the exam will be voided, without a refund.
ITE invoices forwarded for payment must be paid in full 30 days from the order date. The program may continue to purchase additional exams through the last business day in April. All payments must be received by the last business day in June.
No refunds or credits are granted if excess exams are ordered or a trainee was not able to participate in the ITE as planned.
