Fellows must be in training at the time of the examination and listed on a subspecialty tracking roster to be eligible to take SITE. Subspecialty program directors must return the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) tracking roster, with the name of each fellow and identifying data including dates of fellowship, to the ABP before a fellow may register for SITE. Program directors should immediately submit data for fellows who join the fellowship after the tracking roster is submitted, so they may register at the earliest possible date.
There is a 2-part application process for this exam.
To apply for the SITE, you must have an ABP Portfolio.
After logging in:
Computer technical difficulties, operator error, or difficulties arising due to username or password problems (ie, forgotten password or inability to log in to the ABP database due to inconsistency with spelling of names) must be resolved and the application completed and submitted before the 3:00 pm (EST) deadline. Please be aware that it can take up to 48 hours (excluding weekends) to resolve certain technical difficulties. The ABP makes every effort to assist with these issues promptly; however, applicants are held responsible to check their ability to apply well before the deadline. The application deadline cannot be extended.
Within 48 business hours after the fellow successfully applied to the ABP, instructions will be sent to the fellow's email address on record regarding on how to schedule a seat at a Prometric testing center. If the email is not received within 5 business days of the application, fellows must contact the ABP.
It is strongly recommended that a fellow schedule a test date with Prometric immediately after the 48-hour processing period. If site scheduling is not completed immediately after the fellow's registration has been submitted to Prometric (approximately two business days after submission of application) or at least three months in advance of the testing window, a fellow is less likely to have the opportunity of selecting a preferred test location.
After completing the SITE application and receiving an email providing instructions for contacting Prometric, the fellow must schedule a testing center, date, and time with Prometric.
When scheduling, you may be asked for the following information:
Testing Program: American Board of Pediatrics
Exam: In-Training Exam in your subspecialty
