Score Reporting
Exam score reports are typically posted in your online portfolio within 60 days of the exam administration date. Although the examination is administered on the computer, we cannot provide you with your results at the testing center. We conduct extensive quality control activities before releasing results to ensure that the examination is psychometrically sound and the data are accurate. Learn more about Quality Control Analysis within the Scoring Section.
In addition, without exception, each candidate's examination score is reported to his or her program director. The names of certified pediatricians, but not their scores, are sent to appropriate organizations and directories.
The certificate awarded to those who pass an American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) certifying exam reflects the candidate's medical degree at the time of graduation from medical school (eg, MD, DO, MBBS, MBChB, MBBCh). Degrees awarded either before or after graduation from medical school are not included on the certificate.
Periodically, the ABP conducts research using data compiled from examination results; candidate anonymity is guaranteed in all such cases.
